We are so excited to announce Joy of Fitness finished our first Couch-to-5k program on April 25. Our runners particpated in Ben's Run, a 5k race to benefit pediatric cancer research at Children's National Medical Center. It was a successful day as all of our runners crossed the finish line glowing with accomplishment. Woo Hoo! It felt good witnessing the elation on the faces of our runners upon completing the race and the pride in the familes that came out to support them holding posters of encouragement and giving hugs of congratulations!

Bravo to committing to better your health. Bravo to getting up early two days a week for ten weeks in the freezing cold. Running is hard work and committing to a consistent exercise regimen is even harder, because it takes a whole lot of will power and determination to force yourself out of bed when it's cold and dark outside. We are so proud of our inaugural group of runners and wish them continued success in running and beyond!
