Rock Your Core 30 Day Fitness Challenge

Shannon designed this low to medium impact total body core challenge so that you can do these exercises from the comfort of your own home, in the office, or dare we say, even on vacation with no equipment. Dumbbells or free weights could come in handy if you want added load, but are not necessary.

This challenge is a result of Shannon's years of experience and research into some of the most effective core exercises that do not require you to do a sit-up. Doctors worldwide admonish against performing sit-ups to strengthen the core because it is hard on the back. Although not exhaustive, this challenge provides a pretty comprehensive way to achieve a total body core workout that will help you achieve a firmer, stronger torso.

This is how the challenge works. Via video tutorials, Shannon delivers a new exercise everyday for thirty days. If you miss a day, find out about the challenge after it's started, no worries. The videos can be found via the Joy of Fitness Challenges group on Facebook and on the Joy of Fitness YouTube channel. Try one exercise every day for thirty days and at the end of thirty days, you will have new movements along with variations on old stand-bys that can be added to your fitness repertoire. Start this challenge, or any of our challenges on your own schedule and when it's convenient for you.

We also encourage you to always perform a warm-up such as walking, jogging in place for 5 - 10 minutes before starting any strength training exercise. A warm-up gets the blood circulating and flowing to the muscles in order to help prevent injury.
